Rather tepid rendering of the great Evelyn Waugh novel. None of the actors are particularly appealing. Sebastian is especially charmless. Sort of sad to see Emma Thompson in this dowdy role. Nice English countryside and manor house, if you like that sort of thing (and who doesn't?). Can't touch the PBS miniseries of the late 1970's that introduced Jeremy Irons to the world.
